@fdKen school library monitor! It shows; your posts are economic and thoughtful.
My books are in at least three locations - I have recently tidied up - but last night, couldn't sleep, tried to finish a most wonderful book, still relevant: "The Origin of the Family, Private Property and the State' by Friedrich Engels - some ideas have been updated, but in essence still a great book and he does talk about the 'noble' savage, does not call them that, but has few nice things to say about our present society - one sentence which impressed me greatly last night was:
"The power of this primitive community was broken which from the very start appear as a degradation, a fall from the simple moral greatness of the old gentile society - and so on "
by 'gentile' he means primitive society which was organised according to the 'gens' which is a grouping within simple societies along matrilineal descent - the Romans also had such a substructure.
I believe we are living in the midst of a transition, hence there is so much argy-bargy - 'Angst', whatever you want to call it. I hope something better i waiting in the wings.
And also a book on painting Hungarian Easter Eggs, in Hungarian, (which I once understood, sort of) but the pictures are enough.
and another one called 'The Cell' which I have owned for yonks, but never ready fully - amazing stuff that one, every page a page-turner for me.
and
@NoBoDe has gifted me a Bible, which i attempt to read like a book, but I am finding it difficult.
and more throughout the home
go well
