Customers wanting to buy Akida chips for their devices rather than producing them under license, won't sign a contract until BRN can demonstrate that they can produce in commercial quantities.
Demonstrating your ability to supply is part of the pre-qualification process for a contract.
The announcement says production units are expected to be available around August so we may not even see a contract signed for physical chips manufactured by Socionext until then.
