A lot of people were crunching numbers 3 years ago, when POSCO came on the scene. Everyone felt with a positive announcement, we were looking at adding upwards of 30c to the share price. We've had a few CRs since then, so 20c wouldn't seem out of place.
They didn't mention a JV but they're obliged to honour our position. Who else would they be looking to get Spod from in Oz but us? No one. The terms of the offtake agreement required the formation of the JV. I would imagine that the 43ktpa plant is just a first phase. With a public statement now from POSCO, it may trigger PLS to make an ASX Announcement tomorrow.
This announcement is an important step for the Koreans. The Koreans have been increasing their appetite for LiOH:
This could be an important first stage in a great and very profitable business relationship for us. The return to Quarterly conference calls after 2 years, sounds like the BOD may have something to trumpet.
The restart of the Tesla skyrocket last night (up 8.60%), was a good indication for the sector. China EV stocks which have been labouring lately, had a great day today. CATL up 6.54%, Ganfeng up 9.27% and even the tortured Tianqi up 10%, triggering the autoclose.
This phase of the Lithium boom (which was triggered at the start of the year), looks to be reigniting.
