"I do not like any hardware that locates the antenna behind the pc. Alway get one with a coax lead. In any case if you want best performace do not mix mfg.
I never liked usb wireless cards. They work but then you have to deal with other usb devices causing inturupts. But the 2.0 spec corrected most of this provide you use only one device on the controller.
You did not mention anything on how far your equipment is apart and obstacles in the way"
