I've been trying to recall the ASX listed company that became the new kid on the block as an iron ore producer and exporter about 14 years ago.
I think this was Mount Gibson Iron (MGX). The shareprice spiked from around 90c in March 2007 to $2.90 by early October 2007. Happy for someone to check my figures here (possibly even post a chart).
The news (and shareprice drivers) around this time included:-
Commissioning or Iron ore plant in April 2007 (Koolan Island on track to commence shipments of iron ore by end of the June quarter 2007)
7/6/2007 Mt Gibson Signs Off-Take Agreement with Chinese Steel Mill
18/6/2007 First Iron Ore Shipment for Koolan Island Operation
Will we see similar announcements and shareprice appreciation for VMS in coming weeks?
