China and India Rejecting Renewables for Coal-fired Futures | Newgeography.com

She has probably read this article or similar and knows that Chindia (and as I alluded to before - Africa) will continue to depend on and require coal, regardless of what they say. As the article says, these countries are building 634 new coal-fired power stations. She knows Oz can continue making money from coal for a very long time.

China's fling with renewables is not about AGFrying (also known as AGW or MMCC) but about POLLUTION.

Africa will increase population from 1.5b now to around 4b by 2050. There is only one source of power for her people and industrialisation - coal.

These three countries can go towards gas but the indications are that it will be coal-fired power stations, given what they are building, that they will largely depend on. Problem for us is that if we refuse to supply the coal, the Ruskies have plenty and India has abundant low quality coal and has mandated use of local coal over imports to the extent possible. If we had any sense we would agree to export our coal which is the highest quality around.
