    If you think today's players have it a lot easier, go back and have a look at the speed of the game in Lewis' era. You would seriously have to be joking.

    You talk as though every player on the ground was getting head highed and king hit, and in Lewis' era that was not the case. Never has been. That's just the talk that makes has beens feel better.

    Sure, there were probably a few more punches thrown, but if you think punches are a big deal in any State of Origin, you obviously haven't played much footy. That is the type of hype that people like Lewis' and Johns' reputations are built on, but they are not factual. Just exaggeration.

    The physical demands on today's players would leave Lewis for dead. Today's players are twice as fit as they were in Lewis' time. The game is twice as fast as it was twenty years ago. Watch a replay of a mid eighties s of o game, and you'll see what I mean.
