Maybe MFUG are just getting things lined up on the basis of what happens if the US FDA does not approve? They would be ready to step in and try to start a 'snow ball avalance' as soon as a US FDA announcement is made. If in the highly unlikely event the announcement is negative or involves further long delays, then they may gain some downside momentum.
On the other hand if the approval is given a 'green tick' then all they have to do is return the stock to Karst after the announcement. With interest rates so low, the fee for borrowing would also be low.
Shorters don't always win, just most of the time. That is why they do it.
I would think Karst are not in a hurray to have their stock returned as they see this as a long term play verse MUFG whoo are only in these for the short term.
