I was checking out the GBI website to see if there was any new trial data and noticed two of GBI’s senior staff appear to have left in the last few months and GBI are currently recruiting a new lab manager.
The timing is probably not great for a company endeavouring to get clinical trial data out the door, albeit a very small trial.
If the GBI system is working, as it should, 1,500 HPV samples could be done, in duplicate, in approx 6 days. Diagene/Qiagen testing in an independent lab would take even less time and could be done in parallel with the GBI assay.
Discrepant samples can then be DNA sequenced in a few days by a service lab and then all that would be needed is the statistical analysis, which again could be farmed out.
After a successful capital raising the need to get results out may not be as urgent as it was but if there are no technical problems GBI should have some data out by now.
