With respect VOLT and Yellow yr not medical professionals and thus I doubt your should be postulating on the best public health solution for a pandemic. You guys are very talented technicians but I suspect not so talented or learned with regards to virology. Thus, is it responsible to propose public’s health policies like “let it rip?”
VOLT, the Spanish flu started out similar to this one’s progression. Very mild initially. It mutated, and caused Cytokine Storms in healthy immune systems, where your immune system attacks your own cells. The healthiest people died, mostly mid 30s. It was actually better to be older or very young with an impaired immune system. Bacterial infection was irrelevant because hyperactive immune systems killed everything including healthy organ cells. So all the Antibiotics in the world won’t do a damn. Just like today, where immune compromised patients die no matter how many fancy antibacterial’s you pump into them.
The current risk is further mutation with another species resulting in a nasty pathogen that can jump species. The transmission rate is the scary thing about H1N1 and the possibility of a mutation. Not sure if this should be a joke.
Ps, What really should worry you is that Roxon and everyone seems to think the worse is over. As a technical that alone should ring alarm bells.
