The drilling stopped because the employed experts presented the imformation and risks as to why it should stop.
Managment made an informed decision based on those employed experts opinions.
We view the drilling target in single dimension diagrams, they see real time and 3 dimensions.
It may be that the drill started to follow one or more faults into undesirable structure - above this point everything was going to plan.
Another example of this is with MEO. They drilled Heron2 and are now saying that drilling too close to the fault was no good.
The good thing about PB2 is that they have gas above the fault(s).
This may be why the stimulation and testing needs good planning.
