if you think that the chinese (or anyone for that matter) gives two hoots about who they purchase from i think you are misguided it will all come down to dollars and cents, this deal is definatly in RIO advantage med to long term they maintain the majority of there assets, increase cost savings, gain market power and as these assets are in most cases finite then if the chinese want them so bad then they will buy them over time rather than getting them at a bargin basement price.
