But don't you think, if China would have the intention to punish Australia, it would stop lithium imports from Australia first?

Btw, I don't think China will stop importing lithium from Australia, for the same reason they don't stop importing iron ore.

He totally ignores the fact that Australia atm is the largest producer of hard rock lithium and should develop that all the way into batteries.
Not dig it up and flog it off to China and finish up with a big hole in the ground and a handful of tokens.

And this is what Morrison said in 2019 about EV's:

“I’ll tell you what, it’s not going to tow your trailer, it’s not going to tow your boat,” he said at the time.

Paul Keating made an observation of Morrison roughly at the same time, which comes pretty close:

Maybe Morrison should have a look at the Mercedes EQS, that is the direction EV's will go.
