Cophot,just for the record back in 2017 when hugh bradlow was still with tls tls was investing in quantum computing with the intention being to offer 'quantum computing as a service'.Along with csiro,unsw etc etc,many institutions. The sector will be worth billions,ie no point having mmWave 5g,laser data connectivity ie speed of light connectivity,if u can't be the leader in the speed of analysing and reacting to the data being transferred in specific sectors.. Google in partnership with nasa has developed a quantum computer,at least as far a the worlds largest super computer is capable of testing it. china and the US have quantum as a prioirity sector,japan and korea (that would be japan nnt/docomo ex govt telco) are doing various advanced research,i haven't rread anything recent on such research from tls. Tls was a global leader in technology research. ps above is a short post ,obviously quantum computing ,quantum machine learning and AI are in their infancy.but will develop faster than many expect because of recent technology developments imo.
