The issue of gaps has been discussed at length on the BHP thread - BHP often gaps since it trades on several exchanges, often 'burning traders' as a result & making it difficult to apply tight stop losses.
My understanding of gap theory is that they are often "filled" [quickly too]. However, the initial breakout of a stock following some major development / change / announcement need not necessarily be filled - then again GM probably gapped up during its infancy [poor blighters - not LOL, very much anyway .... ].
You may wish to have a look at CVN [not currently held]. It rose like a meteor & repeatedly gapped up following some great developments / announcements. Having sold at a very profitable 56c I am still awaiting a retrace but even at 87.5c it still appears to be steaming away - K07 would probably say; ".ugger!"
Which begs these questions:
. What of the GFC, climate change, swine flu, North Korea, Israel & Iran?
. How relieved are OZL SHs to see the back of AM etc. [IMO missionx & many others have answered that pretty well]
. To what extent has OZL been weighed down by negative publicity?
. Will OZL SHs be glad to be rid of 'THE BANKS' [this little black duck says, "YYYYYESSSSSSS! ..... never trust The Banks!"]
. How good are the prospects for growing PH & OZL?
Then again:
. Copper has risen 90% from its December 2008 low & OZL is now almost a pure copper play.
. The Bazza factor remains at OZL.
. What will the Board do about the rejected Remuneration Report [IMO that action may be a defining moment in the near histroy of OZL].
So I guess it's over to your judgement mate!
