People need to realise UBS went out over the weekend and said to people -

"We need a billion dollars from you guys for a stake in Asciano, you in or out?"

The fact that they got the money no probs speaks volumes.

Reports reckon Poole only wanted 1.3 initially, but was persuaded to take the 2 billion to get rid of the problem.

As an aside, just think of the interest costs that MR will be paying to take up his 150million. I doubt he has that cash lying around.

He must be very very confident to dip into his pocket that much.
