I agree to an extent - the weekly price can't really be manipulated.
Today's shorting attack to trigger stop-losses was manipulation, so there is always the opportunity (provided you play at the right level, and the ASX and ASIC allow you to do it) for intra-day manipulation.
I suppose it depends on the investment timeline - anyone looking for a day trade may scream about manipulation (but, lets be hones, that is what allows day traders to make profits if they are good at it) - anyone here for a bit longer isn't really affected by it except by a paper profit or loss during certain days' trading.
