Laterite ores typically require substantially more energy and chemicals to refine than sulfide nickel.
High pressure acid leach, environmental and sustainably on the nose.
These things are only viable when the NI price is high.
Sulfides are easier and much cheaper to process.
Its a dead duck when you've got Jaguar.
