My understanding of the whole trial work for saliva, it will have no immediate impact.

Essentially we went to India because the Viral Transport Medium(VTM) was interfering with the reading of saliva trial results at the VIDRL. We needed actual saliva with the SARS-CoV-2 antigen particle to circumnavigate the VTM interference. As you might have heard in the round-table talk on Wednesday, there just wasn’t the live virus samples available in Australia because of the lack of spread here.

So when it became apparent that India was going to be harder than first thought to get the saliva trial done, with help they’ve come across a process in the UK which will give the same trial weight as a VIDRL trial. With that, I’m confident that doing this trial in the UK should mean that we’ll get approval to use the saliva test in the UK along with an update to the CE Mark.
