The IPCC is essentially a political body who take advice from a small group of scientists. The thousands of scientists that small group consults all have differing views about anthropogenic warming. The majority think it is real and a minority dispute it. The majority view is adopted and the minority view is suppressed, pure politics.
But there is a problem for the majority in that over the past decade global warming has stopped and there appears to have been slight cooling. The increase in cyclone activity forecast has not eventuated nor have sea levels risen by any significant amount. Their theory now looks shaky and they are busy amending it to try to explain why the climate is not changing according to their earlier predictions even as CO2 levels continue to rise.
IMO the IPCC is a dishonest political organization with a vested interest in itself.
