There’s a chance that the newly issued shares are so they can say the Gekko (as a complete unit, as intended) is fully funded, in the same announcement as the mining lease approval, so as to quash the nay-sayers’ argument of “just because they have approval, doesn’t mean they’ll actually start mining any time soon”.
