Everyone is being given options, even if they don't want them. Once you have the option, you have to decide what to do with it.
You would convert now only if you expected to be selling at a much higher SP with CGT discount in 13 months or longer, i.e. tax planning.
Whether or not to ALSO buy more shares on market at whatever price is a totally separate decision.
