introducing "real money" when there has been so much credit abuse would not result in stability, everytime gold has been re introduced after paper money it crashes the system
yes the it crashes the system you live within, it would destroy asset prices, house prices would crash, gold based moeny means they can use the nefarious multiplier of credit, if you housing market is leveraged 8/1 debt to income ratio intrdoucing a systme where credit can only be created on the back of gold would take all leverage out of the system
yes yes yes yes in a purely theoretical system this is better than the thin air system we have presently, although in reality it would destroy the bankers as you suggest, the bankers are 28% of our present GDP, so pulling them down can not be isolated from the rest of us, we are all virtually part of the system
imagine if banks could only lend what they had in their vaults, you would see a 90% drop in housing prices within a year
You need to take you thinking one step further, or several steps, the bankers have enslaved us, they have taken the economy hostage, re taking the system is not a simple task, it is basically a form of revolution because the elite will try to preserve the system every step of the way
Goldbugs are impossibly idealistic, they find a new religion then seek to apply these simple solutions and assume only positive consequences, stopping fiat and bankers was a central tenat of Marx.
If gold is used as a money base again the first thing they will do is formally regulate the gold market, thats what a gold standard is, gold standards have as their very basis a regulated market
there is so much economic nonsense written here about gold and history, how many (and I ask this question seriously) how many have really read the history books, how many are relying on simplistic knowledge based on some magazine articles, the sloganeering is beyond belief sometimes, folks look for one religion to solve all issues and when they find it they get all evangelical
Gold is real money? about 5% or less of the folks here have physical gold, most have equities, or paper gold, this is not real gold!!!
