Whilst I don't think the speech was positive, this is definitely an over-reaction. I am not worried about competition for Appen, unfortunately it's hamstrung by its big customers renewed focus currently. It just needs to continue to improve its tech platform and grow its customers/revenue in other geographies like China to offset FAANG reprioritisation in the short term.
