I found this article, which I thought was interesting. Tungsten has quite a lot of uses, the 'dinky' one's often make the presentations, but there appear to be some energy uses which may have relevance to our times. One is for turbine blades and components for wind/water plants. another, apparently, is as a lining for nuclear fusion (i.e. not fission) reactors (Tokamak or magnetic confinement device)
