Going by the ongoing sea of red in my watch list I'd say a lot of the smaller end of the market seems to be taking a hit at the moment. Australian dollar also took a hit yesterday when China made some utterance about the ongoing negative Aust/China relationship.
So it could be a combination of the announcement and investors (especially overseas ones) wanting to take their money off the table because of the above.
