Earnings for this year estimated 405-415million due to disposal of flinders contracts to origin energy, which should also save 10million per year (as per my call to the company a few weeks ago to clarify)
Underlying earnings would be as low as they could go you would think
i think that they should still dispose of half of their assets (i think that the west portfolio would be preferable) to further pay down debt
bhp contract into olympic dam should help....bhp will rapidly scale up production in the next few years, refining copper is v energy intensive, all the better for bbp power plants in S.A...flinders was underperforming in the first 6 months of the financial year
If this debt load can be renegotiated and for half the business to be sold, they may have a chance as i see it
the question is, why would the banks pull the pin??? bbp have power plants, which should provide stable earnings...they are undertaking asset sales, which is what the banks would do anyway
