Again we want to change the way the ATO calculate it.
Your tax is not reduced.
I know it comes out the same for this 1 million example, but it is dangerous doing this.
What is halved is your capital gain, and not the tax rate.
Your tax rate is still 45% plus 2% Medicare
You just pay it on 1/2 of the gain if held more than 12 months.
My opinion of course .. but don’t doubt the validity unless you have some ATO document that you can send
