I don't think RAU would have left the core behind, though, somehow, it's probably in "cryogenics", so to speak.
JK sounded pretty bitter about it all, and made a point of saying that all the info they've uncovered would be "kept close". In fact, he sounded a little like a kid who'd lost a game of cowboys and indians, if you ask me.
Not that it really matters, given III's intentions, to infill and assess thoroughly, it may just give a little CONFIDENCE to the plans, and encourage any backers, if they were to "steal" a little downhole info, there for the taking IMO..
RAU seemed to think they had "all" the available info, but i'll bet you III has a bit more than they think (JK never mentioned, and possibly never new of Dr Whites' involvement with the Roche Bros. gig).
e.g the III preso's so far have shown some old designs etc, which I'll bet RAU never new were out there, given JK's attitude, and comments, via BRR.
I agree, I don't think RAU grouted the holes, it would not have been a good idea, had they been successful in their endeavours, I'll bet out of spite they wish they did now though. To III's good fortune, as described earlier, with the downhole analysis capabilities thesedays.

Mind you, I would not be assured that RAU's targeting strategy was on the money, these holes may be way off "maximum symmetry" as it were, and therefore of little use to III, but who knows, would love to have a look. Haven't been to Mt C for years.
