I bought my first AMI in 2010 (YTC at the time). I sold at a modest profit and only slowly got into them in 2016 and then fully in 2017. So I can say that I am a long-term investor. I don't think there has ever been a better environment for mining stocks in general and for AMI in particular. The copper price is going up. Could soon reach USD 12000 a tonne. There is already talk of USD 20000 in 3 years.
So if you don't make money here, you have to be pretty stupid. The gold price will probably not explode. I have my doubts whether we will really go above USD 2000 - the chances are rather small, but even at these levels it is a very solid price to generate a really nice cash flow and make money. There is still the chance that the FED will lose control (the FED is trapped anyway) and the POG will then move into new spheres. Either way, we will not get a better environment. Something has to happen now......
