I was impressed by the effort put in by Taz the former ceo and he did seem genuine. I imagine they requested the proxies go to them directly as they thought the risk of a lot of proxies (ones voted against the encumbents ) disappearing was high!! This is something which needs to be adressed in our voting system for companies - even where the forms go to the share registries one wonders if all of the staff in the share registries even would be beyond persuasion . The practice where they release to management how the votes are going prior to the meetings allows the management to scramble to help ensure the vote swings the way they want.

Some of the shenaninagans that went on with the AWB when they had the second go to change their constitution a while ago were irregular to say the least.
