well you can compare and in fact you should compare but they are very different animals.
ESG is going for csm whereas it likely that CTP will head the UCG path.
ESG is in the asx200 and so benefits more as a leader in this stranded coal type scenario.
with CTP having substantially thicker coal seams it is likely that CTP will have to do less drilling to accomplish what others are trying to do with UCG or CSM.
CTP have a number of exciting plays, the most exciting of which I also think is the Helium play. 6% recorded.
ESG have neighbours who would find them attractive eg: santos
CTP will have santos barking at their door if they can firm up some gas at ooramina. That is offcourse if BG leave the window open for them to do anything with CTP.
by all means you can compare but at the moment one barks and one oinks, neither are generating income just trading opportunities at the moment.
I still very much like the trading that is going on though and think these entry prices are very good...but maybe there not.
