Disappointing trading in gold shares in last few days – POG in $A went from $2,335 om 7 May and since then has increased to now be $2,356 (no drops on any day by end of day) i.e., increased about 1% but gold share prices went the other way:
- BGL down by 12%
- NST down 7%
- GOR down 4%
- ALK down 11%
- NCM down 1%
- EVN down 4%
- SBM down 8%
I guess the share market is not always rational. For the above companies there were no unfavourable announcements that I can see. The only explanation is the SPs suffered from the general negative sentiment in the markets in the last few days, but I am sure there are other reasons.
