If anything I think it could be to do with the statement:

"China, with population of 1.4 billion, has a significant number of buddhists and Muslims in its population who would shun products derived from bovine and porcine sources."

This statement is outright false because Buddhists would probably shun products from sheep as well if they shun products from cows and pigs, and muslins would only shun produce from pigs - they would have nothing against using bovine derived collagen. That statement is thus outright false. I don't even know why it needed to be in there at all given they're marketing a substitute to a banned product to 1.4 billion people. Just dumb decisions from the company - like the needless poke at 8M that has landed them in court.
