Aside from the Gretapolitics, I have a fair dinkum question. I am (personally) assuming AGL will do some pivot into what the market wants and will always be profitable - kind of like the banks. But let us say that is a wrong assumption. Let us say AGL crash and burn, and coal loses money, and gas loses money, and solar and wind and batteries lose money. Let us assume all these loss making energy production methods kill AGL.
Who then supplies energy to Australia? Where does Australia get its energy from? What energy production method supplies this 'new' nearly free electricity. And who builds it?
Remember the assumption in many posts above is ALL energy production methods are loss making. I conclude if all methods are loss making then all providers will exit the business. I cannot predict the future, but SOMEBODY needs to provide energy using SOME METHOD at SOME PROFIT. I am all ears if some AGL hater has any info for me (aside from 'AGL is BAD', end of story)
