In my opinion, this is what just happened:
Traders guessed that the SP would drop much more post-div than the div is worth itself, so sold pre-div. (planning to buy back today with a tidy profit). Unfortunately for them, there wasn't a huge sell-off post-div, as the div wasn't high enough to tempt day-traders. So, some of those that sold over the last couple of days have now bought back in, some with a small profit, some licking their wounds.
Anyone out there fit that bill?
