World-first COVID-19 antiviral therapy developed in Brisbane and US targets virus in the body, page-3

This seems similar to a discussion on rce threads a while back regarding rce anti viral. My point at the time was Rce seems to kill the virus while it roams free, but can it do anything to prevent the virus replicating once it has entered a cell and set up production of new virus? Sure we can keep killing the virus as it escapes cell to go infect others but I don't think we can stop replication. I think someone suggested rce would "explode the virus producing cell" due to internal pressure in the cell also but I wonder if that was a fact or a best guess.

this treatment seems to suggest it stops replication, so would seem quite different to rce, even though rce was claiming 99.9% virus kill.

it's hard to know what the real target is on severe covid cases. Is it the virus, is it virus replication, is it inflammation and or cytokine storm triggered by infection, is it sepsis? So many treatments seem to address just one factor and so only achieve partial success.
