Not a bad analogy but profit is profit. Would we be complaining if RRL acquired $20m worth of Bitcoin when it was $1,000?
I have a strong suspicion that RRL have finally jumped onboard the gold bandwagon and can see that the POG is about to move up materially. This acquisition is the counter play to the ridiculous historical hedging decision. Tropicana is going to generate a mother-load of cash.
