What strategies are in place for disposing of nuclear waste? It's get buried. Geez, that must be good for the environment. What happens to a plant when it reaches end of life? These article writers should compare this to the zero waste of a windfarm and how easily windfarms can be decommissioned (although they wouldn't, they would just be renewed with more powerful turnbines, etc.).
Windfarms do unfortunately require a shite load of steel and concrete. Some of the turbines we install have 4 steel anchors that extend up to 25m into the ground, and that is from the bottom of the foundation.
More articles need to be written that weigh up geothermal with coal, gas, nuclear, etc.
