Thats a pretty bad decision for FLT.
The problem that I have with that decision is that you generally dont cut off the hand that feeds you. More hype then it is actually worth.
Think about it, for a $2000 ticket overseas, FLT or WEB will make 1% - ie $20. For the time spent in making the booking and talking to the customer it may not be worth it. In a competitive landscape, QAN is not the only game, hence why woould FLT staff in the shops, or bots or AI promote qantas on their website. They would rather promote, say Eitihad or Cathy or Singapore Airlines.
The other side of it is, do the other airlines follow - tough one.
So whilst I acknowledge it is a hit, I would be interested to find how much of a hit it is for the revenue coming from QAN
