Their building a GAS fired power station - meanwhile the Govt. has mentioned a "GAS" led recovery & is researching, researching, studying with some decision making to come!
In the meantime, we get alternating views (from Scientists), "renewables can provide all our needs!", others (Scientists) disagree, it "renewables" ie. reliable supply technology generation, storage is many a year/decade plus away - I'm wondering if the pro. renewables are altruistic dreamers? we'd all like a cleaner environment to leave to those yet to come, it's just not going to happen o'night!
The so called renewables will likely leave a heavy footprint on our environment:
Wind prop's going to land fill
Solar panels - same?
Battery storage - not environmentally friendly to produce OR recycle?
The Worldwide demand for gas looks well supported for some time yet & doesn't appear to show any sign of tapering in demand
The current attitude towards gas appears to be driven by lack of clear information - 2 alternate views & Govt. taking longer than most would have expected to give some clear direction!
