I was doing a bit of background research on AEE tonight for the first time and note that GCM Resources are the largest single shareholder at 17.85%. This not surprising as AEE have an alliance with GCM for uranium exploration in West Africa and..... I know this is old news. However Polo acquired a 30% stake in GCM at the beginning of 2008 and GCM owns a few % of Polo and Regent. Stephen Dattels (ex Uramin) was appointed as a non executive director to GCM this April.
Well, the AEE-GCM joint venture Mauritanian permit was also granted in April and funding is coming from GCM (at least initially). I haven't digested the rest of this yet but with Dattells on board this looks a bit more promising. Somewhat ironically I might end up investing here not because of the Swedish resource (the Sino-King arrangement fell over anyway) but because of the West African play. The downside is AEE are a bit cash strapped so another share placement is possible although there are <50 million shares. The SP has gone sideways for a few months and there hasn't been much interest on HC recently.
