the fact is that mower and eagle are correct - the numbers have been meaningless for years
IMO - Oz is a poor country - just dressed thinking it's wealthy
if you go to so many small towns in Oz - you find that people like the local pharmacy owners have health care cards - because - although they are business owners and qualified professionals - they basically can't live on what they make.
so too, the hundreds of thousands on casual work - many with never enough hours etc..
others of course - have as much as they want - but, they are less common.
and along the way - Oz thinks it's a wealthier nation this week than last week because someone paid 10% more for a house than they would have last week
even though we have the largest personal debt on planet earth and our government trillion dollar debt is now seen as - the debt we should have had before
go figure ----------- have we ever seen a more perfect 'fool's paradise'
