I was hoping for an announcement today, but - sadly - crickets again.
Nothing can save WG from here. His last chance of salvaging his credibility was positive news related to the Gerdau contract, which has not happened. I am also extremely disappointed that Mike has not been more forthcoming with some form of commentary. He must be aware of the negative sentiment within the market, which is screaming out for some sales news.
If the Gerdau contract has been held up for some reason, tell us exactly that, and take the SH panic out of the situation. There is nothing worse than setting expectations - as has conclusively happened - and then fail to meet those expectations. WG is the absolute master at doing just that. But, I really thought Mike would bring an end to that modus operandi.
Considering everything, it was a solid finish to the week. Perhaps the market is expecting next week for the Gerdau contract announcement.
