it’s not about returns, it’s about their activism via the Boards setting agendas. Take a look who is on some of those Boards. The sole purpose tests for best interests is loosely enforced and they put ESG under it. It’s why I am looking forward to the words ‘best financial interest’ coming in under the liberal government to stop some of the activism. Although no doubts they’ll say being woke is in your financial interests somehow.
