Good information on lilac thank you. However, `JRL is highly unlikely to ever be a lithium miner. They are proving up the resource to monetize in some way.
The permitting for actual mining and processing (if it happens) is unlikely be JRL's problem. Given LAC's market cap, potential problems are not deterring investors at this point, even if they maybe faced with the same environmental processing issues.
And tbh, if it means gaining independence from China in battery metals, I'm fairly certain the US gov't will make it happen.
