yeah its definitly a weird situation the only reason i could see to leave it so late would be to wait for sale and not have to fork out the cash. SInce a sale IMO is unlikely to be announced 2morro I take it to mean they will not exercise not because they don't want to but that they simply can't fork out the dollars.
We got the finance extension for a month from my recallection that means 12th July we should have a good idea of direction?
