Northam hospital after hours, barely an emergency department , vs a busy ED in a metro tertiary hospital.
    Hardly comparable.
On your "professionals comment" , a constant refrain.
Administrations and politicians are quite prepared to ignore professionals complaints , and somehow it is the professionals fault when systemic deficiencies make problems inevitable.
The health boards referrals are joke , and seem primarily a smokescreen to make it appear that admin is doing something.
And , of course, they will be counter productive in achieving the aim of a better ED.
I like Cook , and see him as eminently capable , he has had a nightmare of a year with covid and has handled it pretty well, but he dropped the ball, not with this particular incident , but with what led up to it, and his response to it.
    Should he resign?
I would rather he manned up about the deficiencies , acknowledged them , and used his talent to fix them , rather than he and the admin engaging in spin which will eventually just cause the next disaster.
