Only voters over 60 care ?
That's an interesting and desperate spin by someone who's clearly over 60.
Refineries in Australia have been under the pump for at least 20 years. Refinery managers and workers have been warning various governments the whole time. They have been rejigging their businesses in order to stay in the game. International corporations have been building new refineries overseas because they are cheaper to run.
The governments have been " letting the market decide ".
During this period, it has been the voters ( today's over 60 year olds
) that have been the voters during this period of exporting manufacturing overseas.
So, it's a bit rich when some geriatric claims that it is all the fault of the young.
Btw. It is the younger generations that have been pushing for a move away from fossil fuel. Not just to clean up the place but to give us true energy independence as well.
Thanks for not holding the government to account for the last 20 years.
