Hi,
Sons of Gwalia mine is at 1660 metres deep already, with plans afoot to increase this to 2300 metres. They are using 50 ton trucks.
Depth is therefore not a difficult technical problem. If the reserves are there in sufficient quantity, then it can be profitably mined.
